Plan a trip to Mallín Alto

The mountain

Mallín Alto is a backcountry lodge in the mountains 23 km south of Bariloche, reached by snowmobile rather than by lift. The lodge sits at 1,000 metres in the lenga forest, with terrain climbing to 2,400 metres above it — bowls, chutes, steep trees and long open faces, skied for the vertical rather than the queue. Guests stay in heated domes, and the season runs July to September.
